Our Approach
Choosing the right assisted living facility can be a difficult and daunting task for most adults. The physical act of moving is extremely difficult on older adults who may be experiencing physical as well as mental decline. The mere thought of moving into an assisted living facility can invoke strong feelings of loosing one’s independence. Our residential care home has been remodeled with the priority on safety and convenience for our residents.
The highly skilled staff at Satori have been trained to provide as much or as little assistance as needed so that each of our residents can reclaim their independence and dignity. Each of our caregivers receives sixteen hours of specialized training before ever caring for residents on their own. In addition, they also receive continuing education on a monthly basis. Training topics include caring for patients with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s Disease, memory care issues facing older adults, providing assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s), and preventing abuse in nursing homes.
Our goal is to make Satori Senior Care the first and last place your loved one will ever need to move. As a type B assisted living facility (commonly referred to as a residential care home) licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services for 6 residents we have the opportunity to offer ” Aging in Place ” to our residents. What this means is that as your loved one’s physical and mental capacities decline they can remain at Satori Senior Care surrounded by familiar caregivers and friends. In fact, they can even remain in the same room. This also the cost of assisted living care doesn’t skyrocket as your loved ones health declines.
The last thing you should have to worry about is who’s caring for your loved one
All Satori employees undergo extensive background checks and drug testing which far exceeds state requirements. Prior to hiring an individual they must submit to a urine drug screen, and pass a background check which includes state and national sex offender registry, nurse aid and employee misconduct registry, state criminal record search, and the Office of Inspector General list of excluded individuals and entities (LEIE).
Satori Senior Care offers a better alternative to larger institutionalized assisted living facilities or nursing homes. As a residential care home we limit the number of residents to only 6. This allows us to provide superior, personalized assisted living care to our residents and their individual needs. It also allows us to maintain the dignity and maximize independence for each of our wonderful residents.
Maintaining healthy hobbies is relaxing and provides joy to our residents. It also keeps them engaged in life. We believe in continuing the activities each resident has always enjoyed throughout their lives. We have recently added a gardening bench, as well as an arts and crafts room which could accommodate a painter, a reader, or someone who enjoys puzzles.
